Introduction
FEV.io supported a streetcar Tier 1 during the safety life cycle of a streetcar system according to EN 50126 and EN 50129 Project
Background
A streetcar Tier 1 asked FEV.io to support and update the safety documentation for a rear view camera system capable of SIL1 to the latest versions of the standards and bring the system through assessment.
Approach
Our team began by conducting a comprehensive gap analysis, identifying missing elements within the existing documentation and ensuring alignment with the requirements of the updated standards. We then facilitated an impact analysis to assess the implications of the technical changes, developed a new safety plan, and thoroughly reviewed the customer’s updated processes. These processes were also refined to ensure future compliance with EN 50716 requirements. Finally, we closed all identified gaps and prepared a safety case that successfully passed the assessment process.
