FEV.io shapes earth’s outer space – by developing software that eases mission planning in context of ever increasing debris in earth’s orbits.
Space debris is an increasingly relevant challenge in modern space operations. As more and more satellites are launched into earth’s orbit, space debris increases substantially. As of 2024, there are more than 40.500 objects classified as space debris with a diameter greater than 10 cm in orbit and these objects significantly complicate mission planning. To ensure that safe and efficient space missions can be carried out independently of challenging environmental factors in space, the ESABASE2 software is developed by FEV.io together with the European Space Agency (ESA).
ESABASE2 is a space engineering analysis tool which enables important aspects of mission planning, such as a space debris risk and impact analysis. ESABASE2 provides its users with all means to perform reliable and highly efficient space environment analysis, with its up-to-date architecture and interfaces and thus makes it a valuable contribution for overall spacecraft design. ESABASE2 stands for:
Working together with ESA and other stakeholders as part of a long, sustainable partnership and collaboration
Client feedback cycles – we value and integrate feedbacks from clients/end users regularly and frequently
Space industry knowledge – we contribute to expand the industry knowledge, by means of scientific publications focusing on space debris
We bring in ideas and best practices of modern software development to create a software that fits to our clients’ needs
Agile development – we iterate, we adapt, we publish – our software development lifecycle is sustainable and client friendly
