Thomas Huelshorst
In 2002 Thomas Hülshorst joined FEV. His first position was to care about SW development and system simulation for fuel cell systems. As a Senior Technical expert, he worked in the following years on the application of artificial neural networks in powertrain control and model-based calibration methods. In 2006 he took over the department of Vehicle Electronics and Electrification. Main areas of activities were automotive E/E system development and integration, including diagnostics and In-Vehicle network. During this time, he introduced and established battery development as well as Software for Battery Management Systems (BMS) and Powertrain controls (VCU) as a new focus area of FEV. In 2012, he was promoted to Director Vehicle Electronics & E-Mobility and subsequently took over the management of the “Electronics and Electrification” business unit as Vice President at FEV Europe GmbH in 2013. In this position, the E/E and SW development activities were expanded, and Connectivity and ADAS/AD development were introduced as a new engineering areas as well as power electronics. Changing to FEV Group GmbH in 2016, he took over the global management of the Business Unit Electronics and Electrification in 2016 in the position of Group Vice president. Due to further growth and expansion, the business unit was split into the two new units “Electric Powertrain” and “Intelligent Mobility and Software” in 2019. To give the second business unit more visibility, it was spun off under the new global brand FEV.io in 2022. The portfolio was expanded towards SW&EE Platform development (incl. SDV), eCockpit and Cyber Security. To date, Thomas Hülshorst is responsible for both business units and global FEV.io brand as Group Vice President.
